Lassi 2015

Lassi's 2015 season has ended along with the German touring car series VLN season. Even after the retirement due to a technical fault in the last race the season left a positive feeling of Lassi's debut season in touring cars. Races on the most difficult circuit in the world require in addition to raw speed a good tactical perception and the ability to see the bigger picture from the driver and the team. The clearly structured weekends and naturally bound hospitality services and sponsor's events add more value to the series. Based on this year's lessons it's easy to start building next year's package. During the season Lassi also successfully passed his matriculation examinations and is currently completing his mandatory military service at Hamina in the Reserve Officer School.

Lassi's 2015 season has ended along with the German touring car series VLN season. All the races in the VLN series are driven on the legendary 23km long Nürburgring-Nordschleife circuit. The last race of the season, in which Lassi raced in the blue and white PriconRacing car, sadly ended prematurely due to technical issues when the car's steering broke. Due to the challenging and dangerous nature of the Nordschleife part of the circuit, drivers are required to have a special Nordschleife permit. Sadly due to bad availability for the courses Lassi, having come into the series mid-season, couldn't attend races until halfway through the season. Overall the debut season in touring cars left a positive impression.

Success in the VLN series, where there are cars from multiple categories on track simultaneously, requires in addition to raw speed from the driver also good tactical perception and the ability to see the bigger picture, not just from the driver but also from the team. The clear structure of the weekend, open atmosphere and naturally bound hospitality services and sponsor's events make the series more interesting to spectators. Having completed his matriculation examinations in the spring in the Kangasala High School and currently serving in the Reserve Officer School in Hamina, Officer Student Halminen has a quite clear view on this season.

- Racing in the VLN series was different from every series I have raced in the past and it was a very interesting experience. The structure of the events is vastly different from Formula racing. During the winter the plan is to find the sponsorships needed for a competitive package for next season in VLN or some other touring car series. Currently my plan is to have a breakthrough in touring cars and my goal in the long run is either in DTM or the ever more growing Formula E series.

Before the team and series choices for the 2016 season Lassi will be having a small break from racing and will be focusing in keeping up his fitness, sponsorship deals and above all else in completing his mandatory military service. The tests for the coming season are looming above and the winter will be past surprisingly quickly
